Our story is one of great successes and of great challenges for the future. Excellent careers are plentiful, and will be for many years to come, for individuals with training in the agricultural sciences and technologies. Let Muscatine Community College prepare you for the many valuable career opportunities available to graduates of our farm management program.

With the new millenium, it is estimated that 80% of the careers in the United States will require less than a bachelor's degree! Technical skills are needed and the agricultural industry is no exception to this future projection.

Think about it for a minute. Agriculture has become a very high tech industry. Each time the field of computer science makes a technological breakthrough, that technology eventually impacts the agricultural community. Necessity is the mother of invention and innovation. Innovation requires people with an eye toward the future and new ideas, engineers to make those ideas a viable product, companies to manufacture them, sales people to market them and, finally, technicians to service these new products.

By the time the year 2050 rolls around, the population of the world will have tripled in relation to the 1990s. Innovation in agriculture is the key to feeding our ever-expanding world population. We must identify new methods of increasing yields on the tillable land now in production if we are to preserve the earth's natural resources and ecological balance.

The Muscatine Communtiy College Agriculture and Technology Programs are ready to tackle the challenges that face American agriculture. If you are interested in starting down the path towards a rewarding career as an agribusiness professional, you should contact a representative from Muscatine Community College.
