MUSCATINE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Where the Mississippi River takes a western turn, you'll find Muscatine, Iowa and the Muscatine Community College campus. Founded in 1929, MCC has a long history of providing quality education and, over the years, has grown as it responded to the needs of the community. The academic standards that we've set are the same as those at other colleges. The difference is in the teaching. Our instructors may be academicians, but they are far from stuffy and remote. They are approachable, interesting and excited about teaching. Since they know you and your goals, they can help you reach those goals.

Founding Fathers of MCC Ag Program

The Agribusiness Program, established in 1965, owes its beginning to four men: Kermit Howell, Everett Clover, Walt Mitschele, and Gil Huesmann. The program they developed has been extremely successful and has since been been copied nationwide.

Below is pictured today's Agribusiness & Technology Department. The four members are: Paul Martin, Janet Freeborn, Marshall MacDonald and Jim Kline. They continue the tradition begun 35 years ago.

In 1999, a Horticultural Program was added. The quality of the education you receive here shows through our job placement. When you graduate you'll have a degree and the skills that mean something in the workplace.

The MCC campus, located on the northest side of Muscatine, encompasses seven buildings adjacent to beautiful Weed Park and just a short drive from the Mississippi River. Campus departments have been set up with students' needs in mind. The Student Services building houses the Dean of Students' office, registration, student counseling center, bursar, book store and student center. The Agribusiness & Technology Department, located in Gaekle Hall, is centrally located and is highlighted on the campus map below.
